Formed in 2003 in Dallas, TX, MAX CADY, pronounced (maks ka-ty) and named after the villain portrayed by Robert DeNiro in the '92 remake of the classic Cape Fear, is a riff-oriented rock-n-roll band hailing from the Lone Star State.
Currently supporting their third LP entitled "Wicked Ways," MAX CADY still has the fury that fueled even the earliest demos in early 2003. After eight years, seven line-up changes, mostly in the drummer position, which solicits the ever-popular Spinal Tap reference, Max Cady soldiers on continuing to do what they do best. "We still play loud rock-n-roll and put on a great live show no matter what. It's been an interesting ride," says singer-guitarist Justin Moore.
At home and on the road MAX CADY is honored to have shared the stage with some influences and some friends: Fu Manchu, Burning Brides, Andrew WK, The Donnas, Toadies, Valient Thorr, Riverboat Gamblers, Blue Oyster Cult, Speedealer, The Breeders, Danko Jones, LA Guns, Vaux and The Circle Jerks.
In addition to playing the Kevin Says Stage on the Vans Warped Tour in 2005, the perennially nominated Dallas Observer Music Award nominee for best hard rock act Max Cady also has the title track from their debut record "Tonight Alive" included in the feature film The Night of the White Pants. "I've always been influenced by movies, so having our music in a feature film is a dream come true," says Moore.
In January of 2005 MAX CADY released their debut album "Tonight Alive" on singer-guitarist Justin Moore's label Sidearm Entertainment. "Tonight Alive" was recorded at Last Beat Studios in Dallas, TX with engineer/co-producer Paul Williams.
In October of 2007 MAX CADY released their sophomore album "Gun Crime" which was recorded at Artisan Studios in Farmers Branch, TX, again with engineer/co-producer Williams.
